Support That Feels Like Living
Everything we do starts here

At Wara Yindi, support is not something done to people. It is something built with people—around their identity, goals, relationships and the life they want to live.

FUNCTIONAL NEEDS ANALYSIS
A Functional Needs Analysis (FNA) is a targeted, evidence‑driven functional report designed specifically for NDIS decision‑making. It is not the same as a traditional Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA), and that difference is exactly why people choose your service. A Functional Needs Analysis is a streamlined, multidisciplinary assessment that focuses on the real support a person needs, why they need it, and what happens without it. It is built around functional impact, daily living barriers, carer capacity, and risk, not long clinical testing.
Your FNA provides:
-
Real examples of daily challenges
-
Real examples of support needs
-
Real examples of carer burnout
-
Clear justification linked to NDIS legislation
-
Evidence written in language delegates understand

It is practical, accurate, and NDIS‑aligned, feedback and NDIS changes lead and designed
Most FCAs are long, clinical, and exhausting, filled with generic testing, completed by one discipline, oversighted by delegates because they lack functional detail and focused on impairment, not daily life.
Your FNA is the opposite
-
It gives delegates exactly what they ask for:
-
functional impact
-
examples
-
justification
-
risk
-
support mapping
-
Where real‑world needs meet clinical clarity. This is not just a report — it is a roadmap for the right support, because your support needs deserve more than a generic report.
The FNA is:
-
Shorter but stronger
-
Clearer but more detailed
-
Multidisciplinary and easy to read
-
Evidence‑heavy but not overwhelming
-
Designed for real outcomes, not just compliance
Key Differences:
-
Functional Needs Analysis — focuses on real life, real examples, real support needs.
-
Functional Capacity Assessment — focuses on clinical testing and impairment scoring.
A Functional Needs Analysis gives NDIS delegates the exact evidence they need — real examples, real risks, real support needs — without the massive, oversighted assessments.
All reports and recommendations completed by a Board approved Developmental Educator, with oversight and input from multiple different disciplines including Specialist Support Coordinators, Counsellors, Youth Workers, Early Childhood Educators & High Intensity Support Workers.
